The EU Delegation to Ukraine organized the art residence “EU-UA Bridges of Resilience: Shared Heritage and Common Futures,” taking place from September 16-24, 2024. This initiative, part of the “Cultural Diplomacy: Ukraine — EU 2023-2024” project, brought together 20 artists from the EU member states and Ukraine in Uzhhorod, a city known for its vibrant cultural scene and historical significance.
Throughout the residency, participants immersed themselves in Uzhhorod’s rich cultural environment while creating artworks that reflect the evolving relationship between Ukraine and the EU. The program highlights the EU’s support for Ukraine’s cultural and artistic development as part of its broader political and economic assistance.
Artists engaged with local cultural figures, explore the city’s artistic venues, and participate in events that foster collaboration and mutual understanding. The residency culminated in an exhibition where participants showcased their work. This unique residency offers a platform for building lasting connections and celebrating the shared heritage and future prospects of the EU and Ukraine.
